Rick has maintained a strong presence on the Internet for many years, creating a collection of other websites that reflect his wide range of interests and pursuits that have shaped his life. From personal storytelling and travels across America, and beyond, to more than six decades of family history research, to his love of books that have influenced his thinking, each site reveals his passions and a glimpse into a different part of his world. Together they offer visitors a window into a life filled with curiosity, storytelling, discovery, and experiences that have proven to be anything but ordinary.
Nearly twenty years in the making, Stories I Share With Friends is Rick’s personal collection of reflections, life experiences, lessons, observations, and memorable moments gathered along the way. With nearly 200 entries and growing, his blog spans everything from deeply personal experiences to humorous observations. All of them told in Rick’s distinctive voice, revealing his humor, storytelling style, and unique way of seeing the world. Read them and you’ll see he’s a man whose journey has been filled with experiences worth sharing.
Rick’s world doesn’t end at the poker table — it continues on the streets and highways of this remarkable country, including his home in Las Vegas. Through his YouTube channel, RickGleasonWorld -- from the East to the West -- he shares the sights, sounds, moments and stories he’s encountered along the way. Whether shooting video at home, on the streets from his car, his motorcycle, or high above with his drone, Rick captures the moments and memories, including the personal and family experiences that make every photo and every journey meaningful and worth sharing.
Rick believes that remembering and honoring those who came before us keeps their stories alive and reminds us that our own lives are part of a much longer journey. The past isn’t gone — it lives on in the stories and the people we choose to remember. Rick began his research as a pre-teen, beginning a more than 60-year adventure into carefully documenting his family’s genealogy and history. The still-growing Clearfield Descendants website is the result of that lifelong dedication and contains more than 26,000 individuals from over 9,500 families. Today their descendants reach across, and to every corner of the United States, and around the world. Rick, his children, and grandchildren share blood ties with most of them.
Goodreads is the world’s largest online community for readers and book recommendations. There people discover books they love and then share what they’ve read. When Rick isn’t writing, he’s often reading. His Goodreads page contains a growing personal record of many of the books he has read over the decades. While not a complete list, it reflects the wide range of authors, subjects, interests and ideas that have influenced and helped shape the person Rick is today.
