Former news anchor turns Las Vegas poker experience into a new strategy book that delivers practical, real-world poker strategy built from experience—not theory.
Las Vegas, NV (April 1, 2026) — Las Vegas poker player and former television news reporter, Rick Gleason, today announced the release of his new book, 101+ Poker Tips (That Actually Work) – What the Cards Taught Me After Midnight and the launch of his website, RickGleason.com.
Most poker advice sounds good—until real money is on the table. In 101+ Poker Tips That Actually Work, Rick Gleason cuts through theory, jargon, and recycled advice to deliver something far more useful: clear, practical strategies drawn from thousands of hands played in real games. This is not a book about perfection. It’s about making better decisions, avoiding costly mistakes, and consistently improving how you play.
Rick’s new book focuses on the practical lessons learned after years playing live cash games in Las Vegas casinos and presents 101+ concise and practical insights designed to help everyday players improve their decision-making, discipline, and long-term results at the poker table.
"Poker is often misunderstood as a game of luck played against the house,” Gleason says. “It isn’t—it’s a competition between you and the other players at your table. And over time you come to realize the real game is about judgment, patience, and emotional control. The players who succeed are the ones who learn how to think clearly, making better decisions, especially when the pot grows large, and the pressure is on.”

The book has already drawn praise from members of the poker community. “Rick Gleason’s 101+ Poker Tips offers practical advice drawn from real experience,” said poker writer Robbie Strazynski. “It’s relatable, thoughtful, and written from the perspective of someone who truly understands the everyday poker player.”
